How to Unblock Your IP from CSF Firewall
If you suddenly cannot load your website, cannot access cPanel, and your email client stops connecting โ but everything works perfectly when you switch your phone to 5G/Mobile Data โ your home or office IP address has been blocked by our server firewall (CSF / Imunify360).
Why Was I Blocked?
Our firewall automatically bans IP addresses that show malicious behavior to protect the server. The most common reasons legitimate users get blocked are:
- Email Password Failures: You updated your email password in cPanel, but forgot to update it on your phone or Outlook. The app repeatedly tries to log in with the wrong password in the background, triggering a brute-force ban.
- cPanel/FTP Login Failures: Typing your cPanel or FTP password incorrectly multiple times in a row.
- ModSecurity Triggers: A poorly coded plugin on your site triggered a Web Application Firewall rule.
How to Unblock Yourself via Client Area
Hostinap provides a self-service tool in your billing dashboard to instantly remove the block.
- Disconnect your phone from your home WiFi (so you can access our site).
- Log in to your Hostinap Client Area at
https://www.hostinap.com/clients. - Navigate to the Support menu and click Unblock IP Address (or check the left sidebar in your active hosting service dashboard).
- The system will automatically detect your current IP address. If you need to unblock your home/office router, you will need to find its public IP by searching "What is my IP" on Google from that network, then paste it here.
- Click Check & Unblock.
- If the IP was blocked, the system will remove the ban and tell you exactly why it was blocked (e.g., "Failed SMTP login for info@...").
How to Prevent Getting Blocked Again
Unblocking the IP is only half the battle. If you don't fix the underlying cause, the firewall will block you again in 5 minutes.
- If blocked for Email logins: Immediately turn off WiFi on your devices, update the email password in Outlook/Apple Mail settings to the correct one, and then turn WiFi back on.
- If blocked for ModSecurity: Note down the Rule ID provided in the unblock reason, and contact our support team so we can whitelist that specific rule for your domain.
Can't Access the Client Area?
If you cannot access the Client Area at all, simply send a WhatsApp message to our support team saying "My IP is blocked" along with your public IP address (find it at ipv4.me using a different network), and we will clear it for you immediately.
