Email Deliverability Guide

Why Google & Yahoo Reject Emails Without SPF & DMARC

Major inbox providers enforce strict domain authentication to combat phishing, domain impersonation, and spoofing.

1. SPF (Sender Policy Framework)

SPF is a public DNS record that lists every IP address and third-party mail server authorized to send emails using your domain name. Mail servers check this record before accepting incoming messages.

2. DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail)

DKIM adds a cryptographic digital signature to the header of every email you send. The receiving server verifies this signature using your public DNS key to ensure the email was not tampered with in transit.

3. DMARC (Policy & Reporting)

DMARC tells recipient mailboxes (like Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo) what to do if an incoming email fails SPF or DKIM checks — whether to accept it, quarantine it into Spam, or reject it completely.

How to Add These Records in cPanel

Step 1: Log in to cPanel and open Zone Editor

Log in to your Hostinap cPanel account and navigate to the Domains section. Click Zone Editor, locate your domain name, and click Manage.

Step 2: Add or Edit the SPF TXT Record

Look for an existing TXT record for your root domain (yourdomain.com) starting with v=spf1. Click Edit, replace its value with your generated SPF string from above, and click Save Record.

Step 3: Add the DMARC TXT Record

Click Add Record, choose Type TXT, set the Name/Host to _dmarc, paste your generated DMARC string into the Record field, and click Save Record.
