How to Create a cPanel Account in WHM (Reseller Hosting)
Every client you onboard to your Hostinap Reseller Hosting plan gets their own completely isolated cPanel account. You create, manage, and provision these accounts from your WHM (WebHost Manager) dashboard in just a few clicks.
Step 1: Log into WHM
Navigate to https://yourdomain.com:2087 (or your server's primary hostname) in your web browser. Enter the reseller username and password provided in your Hostinap welcome email.
Step 2: Navigate to "Create a New Account"
In the top-left search bar in WHM, type "Create a New Account", or find it in the sidebar under Account Functions → Create a New Account.
Step 3: Enter Domain & Login Information
Fill out the primary client parameters:
- Domain: Enter the client's domain name (e.g.,
clientdomain.com) withouthttps://orwww. - Username: WHM will auto-generate an 8-character username. You can customise this if preferred.
- Password: Enter a strong, random password or use the built-in password generator.
- Contact Email: Enter your client's email address so they receive automated system notifications (such as SSL renewals or quota warnings).
Step 4: Choose a Hosting Package
Under the Package section, choose a predefined package from the dropdown menu. Packages determine the client's disk space, bandwidth, number of databases, and email account limits. If you haven't created a package yet, you can navigate to Packages → Add a Package in WHM to set your tiers.
Step 5: Configure Settings & Click Create
Leave the default DNS and Mail Routing settings (Local Mail Exchanger is recommended unless your client uses Google Workspace or Microsoft 365). Scroll to the bottom and click Create.
WHM will take 10โ20 seconds to provision the Apache/LiteSpeed virtual hosts, DNS zone, database permissions, and cPanel directories. Once complete, you will see a confirmation screen with the client's login details.
What to send your client
Once the account is created, send your client:
- cPanel Login URL:
https://clientdomain.com/cpanel - Username & Password: The credentials you defined in Step 3.
- Your Nameservers: e.g.,
ns1.yourbrand.comandns2.yourbrand.comso they can point their domain at your reseller server.
