How to Set Up Your cPanel Email on iPhone (iOS)
You can easily add your professional Hostinap cPanel email account to the native Mail app on your iPhone or iPad. This guide will walk you through the manual IMAP configuration step by step.
Step 1: Open Settings
On your iPhone home screen, tap the Settings app. Scroll down and tap Mail (or Passwords & Accounts on older iOS versions), then tap Accounts.
Step 2: Add Account
Tap Add Account. You will see a list of providers (iCloud, Google, etc.). Tap Other at the very bottom, then tap Add Mail Account.
Step 3: Enter Basic Info
- Name: How you want your name to appear when you send emails.
- Email: Your full cPanel email address (e.g.
[email protected]). - Password: Your cPanel email account password.
- Description: A label for this account on your phone (e.g. "Work Email").
Tap Next. iOS will try to auto-discover the settings. This often fails for custom domains, which is completely normal. Proceed to manual setup.
Step 4: Enter IMAP Server Settings
Make sure the toggle at the top is set to IMAP (not POP).
Under Incoming Mail Server:
- Host Name:
mail.yourdomain.com - User Name: Your full email address
- Password: Your email password
Under Outgoing Mail Server:
- Host Name:
mail.yourdomain.com - User Name: Your full email address (iOS says this is "Optional", but it is REQUIRED on our servers).
- Password: Your email password (also required).
Tap Next. iOS will verify the settings. This may take a minute.
Step 5: Verify SSL Settings
Sometimes iOS tries to connect without SSL first. If it asks "Cannot Connect Using SSL. Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?", tap NO.
If verification succeeds, you are done! Tap Save to add the account.
To double-check the ports: go back to Settings > Mail > Accounts > [Your Account] > Account > Advanced.
- Incoming Use SSL: ON (Port 993)
- Outgoing (SMTP) Server > Primary Server > Use SSL: ON (Port 465)
Troubleshooting "Wrong Password" Errors
If iOS repeatedly tells you the password is wrong but you know it is correct, your phone's IP address has likely been blocked by the server firewall due to previous failed attempts. Follow our guide to unblock your IP from CSF firewall.
Upgrade to Dedicated Email IP
If email deliverability is critical for your business, our Business Hosting plans include a dedicated IP address to protect your domain's sending reputation.
