How to Move from Hostinger or GoDaddy to Hostinap Without Downtime

Moving hosting does not have to mean downtime. The safe method is to copy the website first, test it on the new server, then switch DNS only after the new copy is ready. This is the same process Hostinap uses when migrating sites from Hostinger, GoDaddy and other providers.

The clean migration order

1. Lower DNS TTL before the move if your current DNS provider allows it.
2. Take a full backup of files, databases and email accounts.
3. Create the hosting account on Hostinap.
4. Restore the site and database on the new server.
5. Test the website using a temporary URL or hosts-file preview.
6. Issue SSL on the new account.
7. Move DNS when the new copy is confirmed working.
8. Keep the old hosting active for a few days while propagation settles.

Email migration needs extra care

Website files are usually simple. Email is where mistakes hurt. Before changing nameservers, confirm mailbox names, passwords, SPF, DKIM, DMARC and any forwarding rules. After the DNS switch, keep both old and new mailboxes monitored until delivery is stable.

Do not cancel the old host immediately

Keep the previous hosting account active for at least a few days after DNS changes. Some visitors and mail servers can still reach old records during propagation, especially when old TTL values were high.
